Filosofo Uncheck Default Category

Tired of scrolling down to the bottom of a long list of categories just to uncheck “Uncategorized,” I wrote this lightweight plugin that unchecks your default category when you select another.

    sounds like just the plugin i need. unfortunately i still see ‘uncategorized’ checked. I’ve refreshed, etc. i’m using Mozilla/FF. any suggestions?

    greenkao, just to make sure: you’ve checked another category in the list, right? “Uncategorized” will remain checked until you select another.

    If so, perhaps you could save and email me the source from your Write screen (in Firefox it’s under View > Page Source). (if.website@gmail.com) if.website (located at) gmail (dot) com is my email address.

    I’ve uploaded a newer version of the plugin that will work with WordPress MU as well as WordPress “2.1″.

    Hey Austin,

    Thanks, I hated the “uncategorized” thing so much I changed the default to “general” in case I forgot about it, but STILL had to uncheck it.

    This works no matter what the default category you set.

    Thanks for solving a simple but irritating problem.

    Great plugin, but unfortunately it does not work with Safari on the Mac.

    Hello

    A nice plugin, this worked fine with WP2.04, and other plugins.

    But for 2.05, using with the Redalt limit categories plugin http://redalt.com/Resources/Plugins/Limit+Categories

    the uncheck-default plugin only works for Admin role

    I know you’re not expected to work out what other plugins are doing, but it would be great if you could check this

    This plugin works with administrator user only, but i need it to works also with subscriber user.
    Any suggestion please ?
