It sounds like a joke to play on your technologically challenged friends, but apparently you can successfully clean your computer keyboard in the dishwasher (HT: Kim Komando’s newsletter).
Of course, you shouldn’t put a laptop or a cordless keyboard in the dishwasher. And it should be a last resort, after trying those cans of compressed air and small vacuum cleaners.
